Another name in the dark. Editing is still taking place on the last story. I am also very busy with illustrations for the book. All is progressing nicely. Just can’t wait to show you all!

Thoughts for 2012

Dave : January 10, 2012 9:45 pm : Dave, General Madness, Writing

Well, most importantly, my family has lived another healthy year, and my little man won an Academic Award for term 4! Go little sport! Daddy Dave is still chuffed. ;)

Now, to the writing me.

I never ask a man what his business is, for it never interests me. What I ask him about are his thoughts and dreams. H. P. Lovecraft

My last two years in the writing game have been fruitful. In 2010 I was able to achieve publication in five print anthologies. If I told myself that (and also stated that I would be launching a blog along with the likes of such awesome friends), when I first started submitting work back in 05, I would have laughed in my own face… or cried as if believing I was mocking myself. But, it’s all true. *happy weep*

In 2011, I was able to focus on some larger stories and commit to my collection, Unearthly Fables, which was accepted by Paula B, host and director of the Writing Show. Also, I received my first solicitation by David Conyers and Brian M. Sammons, and I was able to deliver a story to them and gain entry into their forthcoming book.

This year, 2012, I am excited to say that Unearthly Fables will see the light of day! Also, my largest story, The Unforgiving Court, will be published in Undead & Unbound through Chaosium Inc, edited by David Conyers and Brian M. Sammons.

Beneath all of this, I will be focussing on larger writing projects. Continuing work on my collection to secure a release this year. My novella and my film script. But, I am sure a short story will beckon me to write it, and it will come at the most unwelcoming time.

Come on 2012, bring it on!

From the far reaches . . .

Dave : December 8, 2011 9:18 am : Dave

Well, not really that far.

If I was really, really far away I wouldn’t be able to use a computer? There would be no point! The WiFi wouldn’t work, and in turn, I would probably cast the laptop out into space. Then I would be stuck with nothing to type on. There would probably be a the navigation console somewhere on the bridge, I guess, but wouldn’t that muck up the craft I’d be in?

Then again, why would that matter? If I couldn’t write, I may as well cause some havoc!

Anyway, I’m not far away. I’m right here.

Tapping away.

Now I’ve stopped.
